Last years Bike and Hike offered participants, an affordable, fun-filled bike and hiking festival for the entire family. The event sponsored by The Nevada City Schools Foundation raised over $12,000. Please stay tuned for the 2013 date.

 

• A Bicycle Rodeo for kids ages 3-9 (11 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
• A Mountain Bike Trials Course for ages 10 and up (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
• Four road rides—your choice of 7.5 miles, 16 miles, 33 miles, or 66 miles. The road rides are open to all ages, but riders under the age of 11 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Riders between the ages of 11 and 16 who do not have a participating parent/guardian must be accompanied by a Bike Blast ride leader. Support stations along the route will provide water and snacks.
• Hike for all ages – a 3 mile loop through the local woods, with options to make your hike shorter if you want a gentle walk.
• Bountiful lunch at noon
• Live entertainment by the Nevada County Regulators
• Bicycle safety checks by the 7 Hills Bicycle Recycle Project
• A Silent Auction, featuring merchandise and services from local merchants, as well as some special bicycle-related items.
• And more: Face-painting, games, and general silliness!
